Dear Mr. Curie:

On March 8, I purchased radios and clocks , manufactures number #HW394, at the Green Tree Co., Inc.
2932 Northwest Highway, in Harden , South Dakota. I paid $123.45 for the radio , as shown on the
enclosed copy of the receipt.

The radio worked well for two weeks and then quit for no apparent reason. Also the volume on the
cassette player kept going loud and soft.

The warranty on the radio states that if the radio is defective for any reason, I can return it and get a
replacement within 50 days of purchase. I talked to Ms. Wicket at the Green Tree store where I bought
the radio through the telephone and she told me I had to mail the item to you to get my replacement.

I am enclosing the broken radio in this package please send me a new radio of the same model. Thank
you for your assistance.

Dear Mr. Blumentritt:

I have just received your March 15 letter against the damaged shipment you received from Green Tree
Co., Inc. and regret the inconvenience that it has caused you.

From your account of the problem, I am quite sure that your request for the $123.45 adjustment on the
damage to the 3 radios. A certain amount of breakage of this sort does unavoidably occur in cross-
country shipping; I am sorry that it was your company that had to be the one to suffer the delay.

I must remind you to keep the damaged crates in the same condition in which you receive them until
the one of our representatives can inspect them. That inspection should take place within 2 weeks.

If all is in order, as it sounds to be in your letter, you can expect the full reimbursement within 2 weeks
after our representative’s inspection. I hope this unfortunate accident will keep you from having
merchandise shipped.
