Volume Correction Factor (VCF)/ Weight Correction Factor: It is the change in the
volume of the oil with respect to temperature. It is determined by laboratory analysis or
by using standardized computer arithmetic. It is usually given in a table booklet with
relative density to the temperature. The relative density of any oil will be mentioned in
Density @ 15 Degree Celsius and for getting the Density @ required Temperature the
Volume correction factor is used.
E = 3.24 (required)
Explanation:
E = 3.24 (required)
E= { [(D-C)/(B-A)] * (E-A) }+ c
= 161.28.
Density
@ 15 Degree Celsius = 0.9920,
Density
@ 36 Degree Celsius = 0.9857.
WCF
= 0.9920 – 0.0011
= 0.9909.
The
quantity of oil in metric tons = 161.28 x 0.9857 x 0.9909
= 157.53 MT
