Free Speech

In a civilized society were rule of law prevails, people are encouraged to speak. Thus, as one of
its consequences, is that, sometimes free speech invites dispute of ideas, without being
restrained. For what would be essence of this right when all we are allowed to say are the things,
the ideas that albeit run counter to our ideals and principles, we have to embrace and pronounce
it for the sake of pleasing everyone especially those in power? For if this is the exercise, free
speech is only ceremonial and a futile exercise.
