TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Teachers must be providing differentiated and personalized instruction to meet each students
needs to ensure optimal success. Establishing high expectations for each student will encourage
and challenge them to achieve greater potential. Teachers should create a positive and safe
learning environment where all students feel comfortable to learn and challenge their abilities.

Twelve Mile Coulee School 2017–Present


Grade 5-9: Mr. Judd Casper
 Teaching Physical Education and Health using large group and one to one instruction to
students in grade 5 – 9.
 Incorporated interdisciplinary approaches and practices to make the learning holistic and
relevant to the real world.
 Implemented differentiation strategies to meet student’s interests and needs, since one of
my students was visually impaired, as well as various students were coded.
 Established appropriate pedagogical relationships with students while in class and during
extra curricular programs such as coaching wrestling.
Khalsa School Calgary Winter 2017
Grade 1-9: Mr. Jonathan Van Huis
 Teaching Physical Education using large group and one to one instruction to students in
grades 1 – 9.
 Implemented differentiation strategies to meet student’s needs, because many students
were English Language Learners (ELL), since Khalsa School is a Punjabi Sikh school.
 Accepted an unfamiliar position and chose to become a part of the culture as a way to
reach the students and various staff members.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Assistant Coach-Twelve Mile Coulee School 2017 – Present
Grade 6-9 Boy’s/Girl’s Wrestling Team
 Assisted with coaching 50 students, most of who were new to the sport of wrestling
including myself.
 Guided the development of skills and techniques through organizing purposeful drills.
 Skills developed include problem solving skills, positive mindset, and resiliency.

Bauer First Shift Camp-Hockey Alberta 2014-2017


On Ice Hockey Instructor
 Taught children from ages 5-11 how to play Hockey for the very first time.
 Assisted in the organization and running of various drills that would allow our students to
work on various skills and techniques that were essential to playing the game of Hockey.
Co-Head Coach-Crowchild Hockey Association 2012-2013
Junior C Boys Hockey Team (ages 18-20)
 Coached 15 hockey players 3-4 times a week.
 Guided the development of physical skills and techniques crucial to the sport of Hockey.
 Developed skills such as communication, organization and time management.
 Acted as a life coach for some of our players, since they were at the age of entering
adulthood.
Collaborative Expressions 2009 – 2010
Social Group at Mount Royal University
 Vice president of a social group that I started with one of my best friends.
 Organized various fundraising events including a Hope for Haiti silent auction where we
raised over $10,000.
 Along with fundraising, the main purpose of this club was to go outside your comfort
zone to interact with new people.
