Analysis

In the first part of the experiment, we wereCtasked to determineCthe nature and pattern

of magnetic fields with the help of iron fillings. After sprinkling the fillings around two

magnets, we were able to seeChow they react around theCmagnetic fields. With like poles facing

each other, the fillingsBwere separating as if theyCwere pushing each other and with unlike

poles they were connected with a form of a loop as if they were trying to hold each other. In this

case the Law of Magnetism was shown as it states that like poles repel while unlike poles attract.

Adding a ring metal will also affect the magnetic field with its magnetic properties.

The natureBof magnetic force in relation to the length, current and angle/orientation of

wire were shown in our data. First ,with constant current when we added the number of magnets

from 2 to 6, it was seen that the magnetic force was increased from 3.92x10^-3 N to 1.08x10^-2

N. Second, with the current increased 0 Amp to 5 Amps, it is shown that from 0N it was

increased by 1.18x10^-2 N. Third, the length of the current loop was also increased from 1.2cm

to 8.4 cm that gave us a force of 9.8x10^-9 N to 1.18x10^-2 N. Lastly, with the angle increasing

and decreasing from 0 to 90 degrees and 0 to -90degrees, the forces were from 0 to 4.9x10^-3 N

and 0 to -4.9x10^-3 N. These data here shows us that the formula 𝐹 = 𝐼𝐿𝐵𝑠𝑖𝑛𝜃. Whenever you

increase one of them, it also increases the value of the magnetic force.
Conclusion

Magnets are materials thatCmay attract or repel magneticCmaterials with magnetic force.

Within the area of magnetism is called the magnetic fieldCwhich shows us how magnetic lines

behave on different situations depending on the polarity of the magnet. Magnetic force can also

be produced by a current flowing in a conductor as it has a moving charge and it depends on the

length, current and angle between two vectors.

In the second part of the experiment, four subparts were performed. First, with maximum

voltage and constant current,Cthe magnetic force was measured with different number of

magnets. The increase/decrease in the mass is the magnetic force that lifts up/pushes down the

magnets. As shown in the data, the magnetic force increasesAwhile putting more magnets. In the

second subpart, this time the current is increased and every time it is increased, the magnetic

force also increases. In the third subpart, with same current and maximum voltage, the length of

the loop is increased. Increasing the length, asAshown in the data, will increase also the

magnetic force. In the last part, it was shown0that the magnetic force of a magnet is maximum at

the angle 90 degrees while it is0minimum at 0 degrees. These four subparts shows us that the

formula 𝐹 = 𝐼𝐿𝐵𝑠𝑖𝑛𝜃 was followed where as if youoincrease any of the factors like

current,Blength, magnetic flux density and the orientationeof the the wire, then it will

alsoeincrease the magnetic force.

For the next performers, I recommend that they should have equipments that are in good

condition because sometimes the equipments are too old which causes a lot of errors and

inaccuracy with the readings. And they should also listen to the Instructor carefully and follow

the instructions on the manual part by part.
