PROGRAM INTENDED 3. Actualize the values (spirituality, excellence and service) which Pasig Catholic College promotes and become an agent of change in the local
LEARNING OUTCOMES (PILO) community, workplace and society.
3. Provide varied learning opportunities and develop the 21st skills such as creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, decision-making and
learning, communication, collaboration, information and communication literacy (ICT), information literacy, citizenship, life and career and
personal and social responsibility to form functional Filipino Catholic learners.
4. Practice professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues to respond to the demands of the community.

Course Description This course provides students with the understanding of the fundamental concepts Information Technology. Basic concepts of
computer, types of computer, Hardware, and Software will be encompassed in this course. Topics about network, internet and
computer viruses and security will also be part of the coverate of this course. The MS Office, which includes MS Word, MS Excel
and MS Powerpoint will also be taken as part of the course content. In all, the students will learn the importance of Information
Technology not just for the program but moreover IT’s relevance in daily life. The use of technology and its benefit will be covered
in the discussion of the aforementioned subject matter.these concepts when they start working.
Course Intended Learning Students successfully completing this course should be able to:
Outcomes [CILO] 1. Know and understand the history of computers and the relevance of this knowledge at present time.
2. Identify the different types of computers and understand its characteristics that will enable them to make better decisions with
respect to choosing appropriate type of computers for implementing applications.
3. Know and understand the different components of Computer Environment as well as its functions. e) Know and understand the
Computer virus concepts and equipped with knowledge of its prevention and cure.
4. Know and apply the network and web concepts to maximize the use of IT as applied in daily activities
5. Know and understand the concepts of internet and its proper use.
6. Learn and apply basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
7. Learn and apply business presentation skills.Explain how the use of IT affects privacy rights and discuss several key issues that have
addressed privacy rights over the years

Classroom Policies
- Observe punctuality and regular attendance in class. Communicate with the professor for any absence. Present excuse form for any school-related activity where
attendance is needed.
- A student is only allowed to have six (6) absences. On the seventh absence, the student is considered drop from the roll.
- All exercises (case analysis) will be presented to class on the same day.
