Description
The Objective of this project is to implement a scientific method for New House numbering
system in Towns with using GIS Technology. The project divided into 3 main stages.

i) Field Surey
In this stage the Surveyors will conduct survey of the entire town and putting that data on the scaled
satelitte imagery and they collect data such as house number, owner name, floor details, usage etc.

ii) CAD Conversion

In this stage the data collected from the field is analyzed and drawn on the base map provided and
separate data entry will be done to enter the attributes collected in the survey. Later the attribute data is
cross-checked with Bill collector’s data.
iii) GIS Conversion
In this stage the required color coding will be given to the CAD drawings as Locality Wise, Street wise and
finally the linking of spatial data and non spatial data will be done.

Description

The work involved in this part is developing Land base using high-end survey equipment like Total
Stations, GPS and DGPS. The land base developed in a scale of 1:1000 covering the following features.
Roads (Road name, Road width, Classification of the road like Major, Minor, Lane etc.) Built up (Schools,
Hospitals, Banks, Temples, Industries, Theatres, Govt. Offices, Software / IT firms,………. Etc., with the
attribute data like Building name, building numbers, No. of floors, locality… etc) Green (Forest, Park,
Garden.., etc.,) Water (Rivers, Canal, Lake, Pond, Reservoir, Overhead tanks, Dams, Nallah, Open Drains,
etc) Obstacles (Manholes, Bridges, Culverts, Subways, Trees., ) Point features (Electric poles, Telecom
poles, Cellular Towers, Radio Towers., etc)
Another part in this project involves developing Electrical network using the survey equipments like
GPS. Electrical network is developed by covering the features like: HT-Cable, HT-Line, LT-Cable, LT-Line.
Dts, HT & LT poles with pole coding & network coding with respect to Distrubution Transformer. Finally the
total project involves both Land base & the electrical details.

various elements of the network, such as 33kv/11KV feeders, 132/33/11kv Substations, 132/33/11kv
Transformers,33/11kv feeders, Distribution Transformers L.T lines connected to the DTR’ s is to be carried
out in such a way that location of the L.T lines and 33/11kv its pole with respect to the main road
