General Guidelines

Please note that your joining could be critically impacted if you do not comply with
the following guidelines
-
1. Candidate has to mandatorily have PAN card (application acknowledgement number is not
enough)

2. Candidate should mandatorily have valid passport or passport application acknowledgement

3. Candidate should have mandatorily completed step 1 & 2 of NSR REGISTRATION Process

4. Should possess all Semester Original Mark-sheets

5. Candidate should submit proof of completion of highest qualification on the day of joining
(Course completion certificate /Degree or Provisional degree certificate /Bona-fide
letter/Passing Certificate)

The above mentioned proof documents should contain


a) Aggregate Percentage of marks obtained
b) Period of study ( eg :2012 to 2016)
c) Statement that student has completed all requirements of course such as exams,
course-work , viva etc

6. Candidate's appointment to TCS is subject to meeting TCS minimum eligibility criterion

7. Land deed or fixed deposits are no longer accepted as surety

Guidelines for filling up documents

Candidates should prepare documents based on the format downloaded from the Next Step
Portal only. Documents obtained from any other source or format will not be accepted

Service Agreement

1. Value of stamp paper used should not to be less than Rs 100 (could be multiple stamp
papers with value totaling to Rs 100)
2. Each page of the Surety Agreement to be signed by both surety and candidate
3. Location of agreement to be updated as “Mumbai” (Page 1)
4. Date of agreement should be updated as “Date of Joining“ (Page 1)
5. Surety should be an income tax payee (having paid tax in the current or previous
Assessment year)
6. The provisions for land deed and fixed deposit as surety are not valid
7. Two sets of signatures (two from surety and two from candidate) required at the appropriate
places on page 5
8. ITR /form 16 documents of surety should be provided as proof of paying tax (Tax paid should
not be zero).
9. The ITR /Form 16 document should be of the current or previous assessment year (AY
2016-’17 or 2017-’18)
10. Self-attested Copy of PAN card of Surety to be submitted on date of joining
11. Surety verification page to be signed by surety and attested by notary or Gazetted officer
12. Self- Attested copy of Surety passport can be provided as an alternative for surety
verification page

Non-criminal affidavit

1. Value of stamp paper used should not to be less than Rs 100 (could be multiple stamp
papers with value totaling to Rs 100)
2. Notary sign and seal should be present on each and every page
3. Candidate sign should be present on each page of non-criminal affidavit

Medical certificate

1. Sign and seal of doctor is to be present across candidate’s photograph.


2. Candidate should sign at appropriate place at the bottom of page one of medical certificate
3. Any medical conditions /disability/ pre-existing illness etc should be declared specifically
4. Doctor to specifically declare that the candidate is physically fit
5. Doctor's seal and signature should be present on page two at the appropriate place

Commonly made mistakes

1. Service Agreement not signed by candidate and/or surety on each page.


2. Service Agreement not signed by the surety twice on page No. 5.
3. In Service Agreement, on first page candidate makes mistakes in location and/or date of
surety agreement. Correct location is Mumbai and date of agreement should be mentioned
as date of joining.
4. Surety is not an income tax payee
5. Candidate reports at ILP Centre with only PAN application acknowledgement (without PAN
number)

Guidelines for Surety Eligibility

1. Who can be my Surety?


Answer: Any Adult (Above 18 years of age) Citizen of India who is paying Tax. The surety
can be anyone (parents, relatives, neighbors) who is an Income Tax payee.

2. How do I know if my Surety is an Income Tax Payee?


Answer: Atleast one of the below criterion has to be met
a) Taxes paid in IT Returns form/Form 16 should not be zero
Or
b) Total Income as per IT Returns form/Form 16 should be more than atleast
Rs 3,00,000
3. What documents of my Surety should I bring on my day of joining?
Answer:
a) Attested Copy of Surety’s PAN Card
b) ITR returns or Form 16 of Surety ( Of current or Previous year only)
c) Attested copy of Surety Passport (if submitted as alternative to Surety
verification page)
