for the membership to have a voice in program development, community activities, advocacy, networking, and issues affecting the

107th Annual Dinner


The Chamber’s 107th Annual Dinner and Member-
ship Meeting was held on Friday, February 3rd at
Finger Lakes Community College. The Chamber
was pleased to host more than 250 guests on this
evening in which the Mr./Mrs./Ms. Canandaigua
Award was presented to Byron Delavan.

Chamber Mixers
We host mixers eleven months a year, drawing traffic
and attention to member businesses (the host, their
caterer and often other entertainment) and bringing
people from all segments of our economy together
to share a drink, a snack and an evening of laughter

magazine-style product that offers large photos,

the Chamber.

2017 Anniversary Gala


The Chamber’s 12th annual Anniversary Gala
was held at The Inn on the Lake on August 23rd.
Nearly 200 guests helped honor long-time members MIXER
including 65-year member, Kiwanis Club of
Canandaigua, 55-year members Finger Lakes Gaming
& Racetrack, Muehe & Newton, LLP, and UR
Medicine Thompson Health; 50-year members,
Ryan’s Wine & Spirits and 45-year members
Fisher-Yates Communications, Inc., Sonnenberg
Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park, among
others. Keynote, Matt Hurlbutt, from Greater
Rochester Enterprise, updated guests on regional
economic development activities.

Canandaigua Visitor’s Guide and Map


The Chamber distributed 25,000 copies of the 2017-
2018 Visitor’s Guide and Map through our visitor’s
center, local businesses, brochure exchanges, parks
and area chambers, as well as fulfilling any requests
by mail. The Visitor’s Guide and Map coordinates
with the Chamber’s Canandaigua Community Guide
and was enhanced with a more eye-catching map
of the area.

Ribbon Cuttings
The Chamber offers no-cost ribbon cuttings to new
member businesses or to members who undergo ANNIVERSARY GALA
renovations or open new locations. It’s a great way
to celebrate your business’ success and gain visibility
in your area as well as across the entire Chamber
membership. Staff are happy to share best practices
and spread the word about new and expanding
businesses in the area!

Chamber University
As the name implies, Chamber University is our
member education program. Leveraging the talent
and insights of member businesses, we host local,
low-cost classes on topics and skills from Networking
and Storytelling to QuickBooks and Legal
Compliance. Chamber U is a great way to build
your skills, or those of your staff, while controlling
your expenses and building your network.

Business Awards Luncheon


The Chamber held its 6th annual Business Awards
Luncheon at the Canandaigua Country Club on
Friday, June 2nd. Wood Library was recognized for
Excellence in Service; Canandaigua Federal Credit
Union for Excellence in Retail; JD Chapman
Agency, Inc. for Excellence in Industry, and Finger
Lakes Visitors Connection was recognized for
Excellence in Tourism. Keynote speaker, Penelope
Pankow, shared the story of developing her business,
F. Oliver’s Oils and Vinegars.

Long known for putting members in touch with BUSINESS AWARDS

Business platform to deliver a Legislative luncheon
in March, and State of the City, County and Town

Dinner was held on Friday, November 17th at
