3) Project Objective

The capstone project presents a major piece of guided independent research on a topic agreed between
the student and their supervisor. It typically involves a literature review and an appropriate form of critical
analysis of sources of primary and /or secondary data; it may involve field and/or laboratory work. The
capstone project must show evidence of wide reading and understanding, of critical analysis and/or
appropriate use of advanced research techniques. The purpose is to enable the student to develop deeper
knowledge, understanding, capabilities and attitudes in the context of the programme of study. A thesis
should be written at the end of the programme and offers the opportunity to delve more deeply into and
synthesize knowledge acquired in previous studies. Evaluation of the capstone project would be as per
NTCC Guidelines.
