b) Based on reading about design of technical communication of Unit 1 of your
textbook, write one paragraph (12-15 lines) on “Qualities of a Good Teacher”
which elicitly include the elements mentioned in the textbook (e.g., heading,
chunks, visual aids, top-down design etc).

b) Briefly describe the elements of informal reports.
c) Differentiate among IMRD report, brief analytical report, progress report and
outline report.
Q.4 You have read about writing the resume in Unit 4 of your textbook. Prepare a
detailed job resume of yourself. You may include following elements in your
resume but not necessarily limited to: (20)
a) You personal information (name, address and phone number)
b) Career objective (type of position you are searching)
c) Educational information (degree(s), name of college, major subjects and date
of completion of degree)
d) Work history, if any (title of jobs(s), employment companies, date of

Q.5 What is the purpose for writing a letter of application? Briefly describe various
parts in a letter of application. What is the most important part of a letter of

Q.1 a) Enlist the guidelines for writing clear sentences for your reader. (10+10=20)

b) Rewrite the following sentences after using parallelism for their coordinate
elements.
i. I will go outside and take some photos of sky where it looks really dark.
ii. All I will have to do is to go through the same process again, to click on
the colour and make sure I had selected the same shade of red colour.
iii. I took out a book from cupboard and read it.
iv. The main uses of the data are to estimate the workforce and
unemployment.
v. During the internship, I was responsible for merchandising, creating
floor plans and training new employees.
Q.2 a) Correct the following comma splices. (2x5=10)
1. I need to buy eggs, milk, butter and bread.
2. The tree is very tall, old and green.
3. Different models of computers, software programs and text formats are
incompatible , data processing and information retrieval is slow and
inefficient.
