DEBBORAH A. LAMOUNTAIN Feb. 19, 1965 - Aug. 25, 2010 Debborah

LaMountain, 45, passed away of natural causes in the early morning hours
of August 25 in her El Centro home. Born February 19, 1965 in Los Angeles,
she moved to the Imperial Valley as a child with her family. She was
educated in local schools and worked as a paralegal/office manager for The
Law Offices of Robert A. Espinosa, attorneys at law, in El Centro. Debborah
is survived by her daughter, Mariah LaMountain; brothers, Ron and James
Zielinsky; sisters, Rosie Patte and Sheila LaMountain. Debborah had many
friends in the Valley and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Post
25, the Imperial County Legal Secretaries Association and President of her
Condominium Association. Debborah loved flowers, cooking, music,
traveling, being around her friends and generally joking around. Debborah
had three loves in life. Debborah's undying love was first and foremost for
her daughter Mariah; second, a candy called "Peeps", which she had a daily
allowance doled out to her of one per day from co-employees; and third,
she loved her job and being in the courtroom. She always talked about her
job and never left it behind. She loved the fact that she could put her
knowledge to work for her clients whom she always considered her
"friends". She was ever helpful with anyone in need, always to the
exclusion of herself. The outpouring of love and support for her beloved
daughter, Mariah, from all her friends and acquaintances is something we
are all sure she is smiling above and very thankful for. Ms. LaMountain was
preceded in death by her parents. She will be remembered by family and
friends during a memorial event that has been scheduled for Saturday,
September 4 at the American Legion in El Centro, from 12 to 3 p.m.

Janice Lorraine Chaparas August 26th, 2010 March 2, 1954 - Aug. 24, 2010
Janice Lorraine Chaparas passed away on Tuesday, August 24th, after
bringing her family and friends a lifetime of joy, love, and laughter. A
beautiful woman of many talents, she was born Janice Lorraine Love to
Rev. Eugene and Carolyn Love in High Point, N.C.; she was the youngest of
six children. Music and performing were her passions. After high school,
she served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force, most as a vocalist with AF bands
at Offutt AFB, Nebraska and here at Travis AFB. She was a crowd favorite
wherever she performed, and her talent lives on through several AF band
recordings from the early 1980s. She left a promising Air Force career at
the birth of her beloved daughter, Bianca Dawn. Janice was a loving,
caring, and devoted mother and wife who to the very end did everything
she could for her family and loved ones. While she is now at peace, her loss
leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Janice went to her eternal rest due to complications following a stroke
suffered in 2008. Private services will be held at Bryan-Braker Funeral
Home on Sunday, August 29th. Arrangements are under the care of Bryan-

Philip Eichenberger August 28th, 2010 Aug. 8, 1950 — Aug. 11, 2010 Philip
went home to be with his beloved Lord on August 11 following a tragic
workshop accident at home. Phil lived his life with great zest, love, service
to others, thoughtfulness, humor, honesty, and integrity. His goal was to
live each day in obedience to God. Phil was an amazing son, brother, friend,
father, and husband. Others always came first. He loved and cherished his
wife, his children, and his extended family, and always made sure they —
and everyone else — knew that. Phil was a brilliant man and a deep
thinker, and enjoyed discussions and readings that challenged him. He was
loved and respected by all who knew him. His quick wit, his twinkling eye,
his quirky ways, and his offbeat humor brought joy and laughter to all. Phil
loved challenges. He was a private pilot, earning his float plane,
commercial, and multi-engine ratings. Phil could ride any horse, anywhere;
even the most challenging horses gentled at his touch. Skydiving allowed
him to feel like he could fly, and he loved jumping out of planes and free
falling for as long as possible. Bungee jumping, hang gliding, snow and
water skiing, kayaking, mountain biking, off-road skateboarding, scuba
diving, sailing, hunting — Phil loved them all. Phil was born in Portland,
Ore., and soon after embarked on the first of many of his travels around the
U.S. and world. His parents were missionaries with Wycliffe Bible
Translators, and he accompanied them to Ecuador and then to
Yarinacocha, Peru, in the Amazon jungle, where Phil spent most of his
childhood. He returned to the U.S. to attend his last year of high school in
Lexington, Ky. Phil served in the U.S. Navy, Patrol Squadron Four, NAS
Barbers Point, Hawaii, and in the Naval Reserve. He chose to make going
to sea his career, and graduated from the California Maritime Academy,
Vallejo, Calif., in 1978 with a B.S. degree in Nautical Industrial Technology
and his third mate’s license. Phil sailed with and worked for Exxon
Shipping Co./SeaRiver for 31 years, ultimately earning his Master’s license.
He also served in many shoreside positions. Phil spent many years in
Valdez, Alaska, and in Angola, Africa. He retired in September 2009 and
thoroughly enjoyed having the time to spend with family and friends, go
horseback riding and “horse camping”, work around the “ranch”, work on a
variety of projects, kayak, travel, dabble in art and music, and simply enjoy
life. Phil leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Adrienne; his daughter, Christy,
and her partner, Eric; and his son, Jamie, and his wife, Julia; brother and
sister-in-law, Jay and Debbie Leach, and nephew Jayson Leach. Phil was
preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Eichenberger; his
father, Ralph W. Eichenberger; and his brother, Mark Eichenberger. A
memorial service will be held Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran
Church, 1600 Union Ave., Fairfield, Calif. This will be followed by a
reception at 4375 Green Valley Road, Fairfield, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the
family asks that a donation be made in Phil’s name to one of the following:

Marion (Buck) Burton August 21st, 2010 Feb. 23, 1925 — Aug. 18, 2010 A
tragic farm accident claimed the life of Marion (Buck) Burton on
Wednesday, August 18, 2010. As he was preparing the sprayer to spray his
walnut orchard, the tractor slipped into gear and knocked Buck to the
ground. Buck, as he was known, was born February 23, 1925, on the Burton
Ranch and lived there his entire life. He was the fifth son born in the large
family of twelve. He took over the farming duties after his father’s death in
1957. Left to mourn his death is his wife of 40 years, Allean Burton, and his
remaining siblings including Clarence Jr., Earl (Beverly), Ernest (Patricia),
Gary, Fred (Bonnie), George (Stormy); sister, Margaret Cook; brother-
in-law, William Powell; and cousin, Tom Armstrong (Tina). Four other
siblings preceded him in death. They were Lawrence (Margaret), Richard,
Grace and five-year-old Esma Jean. Buck’s large extended family includes
six nephews and nine nieces plus many other relatives living in the
Vacaville area, and Karen Strickland (Graham) of Cirencester, England. As
a prominent member of the community, Buck served on the Solano
Resource Conservation District Board, twenty one years on the Sunsweet
Growers Board, two terms as president of the Solano Farm Bureau, and
various other organizations. However, his first love was family and he and
Allean opened their large home for many celebrations throughout the
years. Christmas Eve family gatherings grew into a legendary family
tradition. Visitation will be at McCune’s Funeral Home at 212 Main Street
on Thursday, August 26, from 5-8 p.m. The services will take place, in the
family orchard, on Fruitvale Road, Friday, August 27, 2010, at 10 a.m. Since
the actual service and reception will take place in the family orchard,
please wear comfortable walking shoes and casual attire. Interment will be
private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the
Saturday Club of Vacaville Foundation Scholarship Fund at 125 Kendall
Street, Vacaville. Contributions can be made also to the Solano Community
Foundation Fund with credit to the Nelson Endowment Fund which would
include the Grace Powell Scholarship Fund. Donations may also be made to
the Solano Cancer Society and sent to 1125 Missouri Street, Suite 109,
Fairfield, CA 94533.

Mary will be remembered fondly by family and friends for the life
experiences she shared with all. She loved living on the Central Coast area
and maintained a lifelong love of the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley.

It is with sadness that the Harrah Family announces the quiet passing of
Mary Elizabeth Harrah on August 15 while in private care in Clovis CA. She
was the daughter of Peter Barnum Nelson and Susie O'Dessie Hanson.
Born in Oshkosh, Nebraska in 1923 and moved with family to the Santa
Ynez Valley in her early youth, where she was raised and completed her
education in 1942 at Santa Ynez Valley Union High School.

Family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Elverhoj

Danish Museum, 1624 Elverhoj Way, Solvang, CA, 93464.

She was a lifelong musician and vocalist, touring with the Ted Lewis
Orchestra in the late 1930s and early 1940s. She was a longtime resident of
the Santa Ynez Valley and member of the Santa Ynez Valley Chorale.
