Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:
1) Many years ago, zebras used to be white in colour. One day, Mrs. and Mr. Zebra were
invited to a party. They both wanted to look very special. So, they both painted themselves
in black stripes and went to the party.
2) Everyone at the party loved their new look. They got a lot of compliments and praise for
it. The party ended late that night, but everybody talked about their new striped look for
many days after the party. Soon the zebras all around the world were painting themselves in
stripes trying to copy the famous look.
3) After some time, Mr. and Mrs. Zebra got tired of their stripes. But when they tried to get
rid of them, they found that the paint had got fixed onto their fur. They just couldn’t get
their stripes off!
4) To this day all zebras have stripes on their body and now, we cannot imagine them any
other way.
