1. METHOD STATEMENT

This document aims to describe the method to be adopted in protecting the

underground pipelines by the process of wrapping.

In addition, this method statement also covers and defines the material
specifications, method of cleaning, wrapping, testing, handling and storing,
etc., required for the satisfactory completion of the job.

2. PURPOSE

To provide added protection for bolt and nuts and flat washers aside from
currently approved hot dip galvanized bolts and nuts.

3. MANPOWER REQUIREMENT

The following personnel shall be required before proceeding with the

preparatory and coating works except for the technician who will conduct the
testing for the acceptance of the tank lining.
1. Project Engineer
2. QC Engineer – Mechanical
3. Skilled Labor
4. Unskilled Labor

4. MATERIALS REQUIREMENT

The following materials shall be on site before proceeding with the preparatory
and coating works except for testing apparatus.
1 Ordinary Duct Tape, 2” width
2 Polyethylene Sheet, 6 mils
3 Standard PPE

5. PROCEDURE

1. Wrap the recently installed flange with bolts and nuts with double wrapped of
polyethylene sheet.

2. After wrapping the flange bolt, nuts and washer, seal both ends of the
polyethylene sheet including the horizontal end with duct tape, as shown in
Elevation 1. The tape shall be three wrapped at both ends and one wrap at
horizontal end.
