Job Description of Finance Assistant

Listed below are key duties, tasks, and responsibilities that make up most finance assistants’ job
description.
1. Processes and/or oversees the processing of financial forms of EU/GON.
2. Checks, corrects and maintains a variety of financial and other business records and
documents.
3. Answers inquiries and provides information to management, staffs and the public on
fiscal policies and procedures.
4. Prepares or assists in preparing various financial or administrative reports.
5. Approves and processes requisitions for supplies and equipment.
6. May prepare various payrolls.
7. May initiate new procedures in accounting/business systems.
8. Contributes to project goals by accomplishing related duties as required.
9. Contributes to develop YPOs, budgeting of project related activities.
10. Prepare progress reports as per EU/GoN rules and regulation.
11. Perform general clerical cum administration support including mail-outs, photocopying,
filing and equipment supplies.
12. Contribute to procure goods and services of project.
13. Assist and deputize on behalf of the finance officer.
Requirements
Education: Higher secondary school graduate (10+2)in management stream or equivalent plus
business/accounting courses beyond high school preferred.
Skills and Experience: Two to three years of related financial/office experience required.
Computer competency requiring word-processing, spreadsheet and database software
knowledge and experience, Accounting package (TALLY ERP 9) and Professional telephone
manner, Ability to use e-mail communication.
