• Entity: Something that can be distinctly
identified.
• Relationship: An association between two or
more entities.
• Attribute: A characteristic that may identify
instances of entities or relationships.

FRBR Entities
• Group 1: The products of intellectual or artistic endeavor.
Sometimes called “the primary entities.”
– Work: a distinct intellectual or artistic creation
– Expression: the intellectual or artistic realization of a work
in some form (e.g. alpha-numeric, musical notation)
– Manifestation: the physical embodiment of an expression
(e.g. a print publication)
– Item: a copy of a manifestation
