Ancient Egypt experienced collapse of government which speculated rumors about it. The readings
csited reasons about the collapse of the Old Kingdom of Egypt. However, the lecturer opposes the
theories presented by the reading through providing points of conflict.

First, the letter stated that Provincial Governors are one of the most privileged employees people during
their Era,. gGiving them a greater chance of receiving bonus and rewards., Tthus, there is no use of being
not loyal to the Government. Also, there is a strong herd of Aarmy at that time which will cause any
perpetrators to be easily subdued. This idea is used by the professor to go against the claim of the
readings that they have revolted against monarchy producing loose collection of fragmented regional
powers.

Second, the professor also discussed about the localized drought in the Eastern part of Egypt. and It did
not bring famine and drought to other areas. This claim is used by the professor to counter the notion of
the readings that there is severe decrease in rainfall leading to severe drought, thereby, producing
famine and little to no crops.

Lastly, the professor mentioned that the fights among dDynasties are common not only for in Pepi II’s
family and points out that it did not cause any collapse to the Kingdom. She also added that the cCentral
gGovernment was so organized that any turmoil is easily brought to an end. The professor carry out this
idea to counter the claims of the readings that due to the extreme reign of Pepi II, his successors
competed against the position which created Political unrest and turmoil to the Kingdom.

In an eye of a child, anything that is famous, done by everybody, or anything presented by an adult will
always be RIGHT for them. Therefore, it is important that we choose or select the appropriate ideas or
values that we will to instill in our child’s mind for them to become a better individual in the future.

In my own point of view, tTelevision aAdvertising directed toward children under age of 5 should indeed
be not allowed because of the following reasons. First, a child’s mind especially with ages below 5 needs
molding and supervision. Exposure to multi-media such as these television advertisements will
somewhat confuse them as to the conflicting details from television and the teachings from their school.
For example, some toy advertisement promotes enhancement of skills and knowledge, thereby, giving
them false idea that even if they will not study and continuously play they will still receive the same
knowledge that their school is providing them.

Second is that this will give children less value for appreciationg simpe things. Since there are lots of
choices and options provided by these advertising companies, more children will constantly nag and ask
their parents for something even if it is not important or not yet needed. Later on, if this value will not
be corrected, these children will probably become discontented and irresponsible adults. Examples ….
Of simple things they are missing out on
Lastly, instead of directing television advertisement to children under age of 5, why not channel it
towards the Parents? After all, a parent knows what’s exactly best for their children. It will give them
opportunity to choose or screen out information that is appropriate for a child’s age and needs. In this
manner, a parent could also guide and explain to their child the relevance of the information given and
presented.

In conclusion, television advertisements are given to promote and encourage consumers to purchase
their products. Various ways and strategies can be used but the most important consideration is on how
they will deliver and portray their message to the public especially if children are already involved. One
must be very decisive and responsible in taking in or accepting the right information. Parent’s guidance
and supervision is also relevant to ensure a child’s well-being not only intellectually but also morally,
physically and emotionally.
