What You Need To Have

200g Black Double Knitting Wool


4mm Knitting Needles
4mm Double Point Needle
Three small pop studs

What You Need to Know

sts - stitches
DPN – double point needle
K – knit
P – purl
K2tog – knit 2 stitches together
P2tog – purl 2 stitches together
S1K1 psso – slip 1 stitch, knit 1 stitch pass slipped stitch over knitted stitch
yo – yarn over needle
kfb – knit into the front & back of the stitch

What You Need To Do

Back
Cast on 76sts

The middle 20sts form the flare at the back of the coat. Decrease are worked on
these sts to form a triangle shape

Row 2 – P28, K20, P28
Row 3 – K28, P20, K28
Row 4 – P28, K20, P28
Row 5 – K28, P20, K28
Row 6 – P28, K1, S1K1 psso, K14, K2tog, K1, P28 (74sts)
Rows 7 to 11 – cont K & P sts as appropriate
Row 12 – P28, K1, S1K1 psso, K12, K2tog, K1, P28 (72sts)

Break off wool and silp remaining sts on to dpn. (30sts)

Sleeves – make 2

Cast on 30sts

Row 1 – 4 – Starting with a K row stocking stitch


Row 5 – (K3, yo, K2tog) 6 times
Rows 6 – 9 Starting with a P row stocking stitch
Row 10 – Pick up cast on edge purl wise to make picot brim
Row 11 – K

Break of wool, slip sts on to dpn, one sleeve either side of the back piece (10sts per
sleeve) NOTE: make sure right side of knitting is facing the same way as the back

Rows 77 – 95 work the same as the Right Side
Break off wool, slip sts on to dpn next to left sleeve
NOTE: make sure the right side of the knitting is facing the same way as the back and
sleeves.

Collar

Row 1 - With wrong side of work facing Purl across sts on dpn
Row 2 – K5 (K2tog) 15 times, K5

Cast off
Fastening band
Right Side
Measure 5 inches from cast on edge of Right front side. Mark with spare wool.
With the right side facing you pick up 18 sts along the edge, ending at the start of
neck shaping.
Starting with a Purl row stocking stitch 5 rows. Cast off.

Left Side
With right side facing you start at the neck shaping and pick up 18 sts down the front
edge.
Starting with a Knit row stocking stitch 5 rows. Cast off.
This edge will be stitched on to the left front once the pop studs have been sewn on.

Finishing.

Sew up raglans and side seams.


Evenly space three pop studs on fastening band and sew in place.
Sew the left fastening band in place on left front.
Weave in loose ends.
