Note:
1. Lifts installed in a factory that has been inspected and tested under the Building and Common Property (Maintenance and Management) Rules,
ministered
ad by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA),
are exempted from the testing requirement under section 29 of the Factories Act. Refer to the Factories (Hoists and Lifts) (Exemption) Order 2000.

2. Examination refers to the thorough visual examination including functional testing of the machine and safety devices
3. Load test refers to the lifting of a test load, which is normally at 125% of the SWL.
4. Manufacturer's Test Certificate refers to the certificate issued by the manufacturer and the date of such a certificate should not be more than 1 year prior to date of registration
