INTRODUCTION

1 .Background of study
Financial performance analysis is the process of identifying the financial strengths and weakness
of the firm by properly establishing the relationship between the items of balance sheet and loss
account. Commercial banks have experience a dynamic and competitive environment in both
nation and international scenario. It also helps in short-term and long term forecasting and
growth can be identified with the help of financial performance analysis. The financial analyst

Himalayan Bank Ltd. is one of the pioneer private banks of the Nepalese banking industry being
established in 1993 A.D as a joint venture with Habib Bank Limited, Pakistan.Its holds a vision
of becoming a leading bank of the country and providing the customers with premium services to
give a substantial return to its stakeholder. HBL has a huge base of customer base and especially
“A” rated client which are there due to HBL’s long history of customer satisfaction and

2. Statement of the problem


Nepal is a country which is made up of villages and rural areas mostly and where there is
predominance of agriculture sector. it is still difficult to solve the credit problem of the country
through exiting Commercial banks.NRB has mandated commercial banks to open the branches
in urban areas. In this Regard, this research tries to find out the answer the following question:

 What is the financial profit of HBL


 Is there any relationship between the banks total deposit and loan & advance
diversity advance
 What is trend of deposit & investment.

3. Objectives of the study


The objectives of this report are to analysis and understand the Loan management of Nepal
Investment Bank Limited. The main objectives of this report are as follows:

 To examine the performance of HBL bank.


 To evaluate the efficiency and pofitability of the HBL bank.
 To find out the relationship between total investment and total deposite.total
 deposite and loan & advance.
4. Research Methodology
4.1 type of research
This study is based on quantitative type of research.
4.2Population and sampling
Population refers to the industrial of the same nature of its service and product. It is the
collection or the aggregate of objects or the set of an operation .In context of Nepal, there are 28
commercial banks are in operation at present.

4.3 Types of Data


The report is based upon secondary data. The data requires for the analysis are directly obtained
from the balance sheet and P/L account of concerned banks annual report. Supplementary data
and information are also collected from no. of institutions and regulating authorities like NRB,
SEBON, NEPSE, Budget speech of different fiscal year and economic survey.
4.4 Data Collection Procedure
The Source of secondary data are AGM reports of related bank. SEBON, NEPSE, financial
statics reports, researches, journals, unpublished thesis reports, newspaper and internet websites.
4.5 Instruments

 Reading of documents
 Books, journals, unpublished thesis report
4.6 Technique of analysis
To achieve the objectives of the study different diagrammatic and financial tools have been used
which are as follows:

 Diagrammatic tools: Bar diagram


 Financial Tools: Profitability ratios, turnover ratios.

5 Organization of the Study


This fieldwork report will be divided in five chapters.
Chapter one includes general introduction of financial performance analysis of NIBL. This
chapter comprises of background, statement of problem, significance, limitations, organization of
the study.
Chapter two includes the theoretical framework and review of the previous studies like published
books, journals, and unpublished thesis separately.
Chapter third will deal research methodology consisting of types of research, population and
sampling, types of data collection procedures, instruments and technique of analysis.
Chapter fourth deal with analysis and presentation of data collected from different sources. The
research will analyze the data to reach closer to the result by using financial and statistical tools
and some ratios.
The final chapter will provide the result of discussion, conclusion and implication of the overall
study. At the end an extensive bibliography and appendices will also include.

6. Work Plan Schedule


After acceptance of the proposal, I will provide within 1-10 month with this work plan below:
