Lesson: My Face / My Food - consolidation
Date: April 6th, 2017
Aim: the students will use the English language to communicate orally about the parts of the body and
food.
Objectives:
- SWBAT identify the vocabulary taught in the previous lessons: face, hair, eyes, nose, mouth,
tongue, cola, ice-cream, cheese, sandwich, bananas, cola, eggs, pizza.
- SWBAT express their likes and dislikes regarding food items
Skills: speaking, listening,
Audio-visuals: textbooks, blackboard and chalk, students’ notebooks, video projector, CD player
Assumption:
- The students know most of the words that were taught previously
Activity 1
Warm-up The T greets the students and initiates some icebreaker games: Slap/Clap/Click/Click; It’s
raining!
Estimated time: 2 minutes

Activity 2
The Ss sing the song – My Face, while pointing to the parts of their faces. Then the T asks a student to
pick a monster mask from a basket and present it to the class. Ss take turns in at the same activity.

I’ve got green hair, 3 eyes, 2 noses and one mouth.

Activity 3
The students sing the song – Hello, Magic Forest!- holding up their paper hand puppets. The T reveals a
poster with the adventures of Woody, Frosty, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. The Ss are
asked to tell the story according to each picture, and then, play it on roles.
Estimated time: 5 minutes

Activity 4
The T asks 3 students to disguise (outside the classroom) using a wig, another one using a funny plastic
nose and the last one – funny glasses.
The T elicits answers from the rest of the class – You’ve got pink hair! You’ve got big eyes! You’ve got a
big nose!

Activity 5
The T shows the flashcards with the food items to the Ss. They say the words after the T. The flashcards
are displayed in random order and the Ss must identify the items very quickly.

Activity 6
The Ss repeat a dialogue after the teacher:
Example
A: Give me some milk!
B: Here you are!
A: Thank you!
The Ss receive shopping lists and play the roles of customers and shop assistants.

Activity 7
The T presents food items that she likes and dislikes. I like popcorn/I don’t like eggs. Then, she elicits
answers. And you?
I like cola. I like cheese.etc

The Ss receive worksheets on which they have to draw the food items they like and dislike.
T assesses their work orally.
