gain a deeper understanding of ecosystem interactions
MATERIALS
Herdsman Lake Reference sheets, this booklet for field notes, pen, pencil, eraser
PROCESSES: field notetaking, communicating knowledge through writing and diagrams
CRITERIA: This booklet is to be completed and handed in to your teacher before getting off the bus
back at the College. During a class next week, you will use your field notes to write in more detail
about the wetland ecosystem. Include:
1. Your name and today’s date.
2. Write a heading for each Ecological Activity.
a. Gather detailed notes to describe the ecological activity.
b. Sketch a diagram that represents the processes and interactions identified during the
activity.
c. Ask questions of the Guide and record answers that help you understand the
ecological interactions.
d. Formulate a question that could be researched.
3. During class write a response, including InfoGraphics to explain the ecological interactions
discussed on the Field Trip.
TIMELINE: Your field notes are to be completed before getting off the bus back at school.
