Areas of Supervision Look Fors

• Use knowledge of where students are (think about how to address topic for all the different
learning abilities in the class):

Planning
• What special supports will be needed for lower students?
• How will you challenge high students?
• Reference the pacing guides to get a sense of standards during IT and collect resources
• Arrange materials and think about what can be set up prior to lesson to assist in the flow of the
lesson (specifically technology)
• Set up 1, 2, 3 Magic system that works for the age-level and for your teaching style
• Discuss classroom management with students, model and have students practice what it looks like
Classroom • Address problems with students privately and calmly with students away from other students and
not during instructional time

Management
• Learn what behaviors require a visit to the office and a phone call home- establish a method for
addressing these behavior issues
• Set HIGH and clear expectations early and often (redirection methods- call and response, etc.)

• Informal Assessment:
• Questioning during lessons to check for comprehension

Assessment • Guided practice to assess understanding mid-lesson and see if you need to redirect the
lesson
• Formal Assessment:
• Exit tickets for day-to-day math lessons, KMRA quarterly
• Writing Assessment (Fall, Winter and Spring) and DRA-WA2 (Fall and Spring)
