PART-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SUMMARY 2017

The following is a summary of the benefits programs available to Kaplan part-time employees in
calendar year 2017.

Part-Time Employee Benefits Program

Health and Welfare Plans


Kaplan wants to ensure its Part-time employees have access to health insurance and other benefit
programs. Kaplan provides access to a private third party Employee Health Insurance
Marketplace that provides access to a range of health insurance policies and carriers. Coverage
options include:
● Medical
● Dental
● Hospital Indemnity
● Vision
● Short-Term Disability
● Life and Accidental Death Insurance

Augeo Benefits administers the Employee Health Insurance Marketplace. Augeo, and their
affiliates, will help you customize a health and benefits solution designed to fit your insurance
needs. You will have access to compare rates and enroll either via www.healthcare.gov or the
Employee Health Insurance Marketplace. At the Employee Health Insurance Marketplace, you will
have access to live one-on-one consultations with a licensed benefits counselor to identify which
plan best meets your needs and budget…all in one phone call. You may call Augeo directly at 866-
206-8501 or access their website at http://augeobenefits.com/kaplan.

WageWorks Commuter Benefits


Part-Time Regular Employees may enroll at any time in the Commuter Benefits Program. The
program allows you to pay your commuting expenses, such as rail passes for mass transit, or
parking expenses using pretax dollars. You decide the amount you want to contribute each month.
The funds are deducted from your paycheck on a pretax basis and used to purchase a public
transportation pass (such as train, subway, bus or parking) by WageWorks.

You can enroll, change or cancel your election at any time. You will be able to register on
WageWorks’ website - https://www.wageworks.com/ (ID Code = last 4 digits of your SSN). More
information on the Commuter Benefits Program can be found on KapConnect.

For 2017 the monthly tax-free allowable limits are:

● Transit and eligible vanpooling: $255


● Qualified Commuter Parking: $255

401k Plan
Part-Time employees are eligible to enroll in the Kaplan, Inc. Tax Deferred Savings Plan for Hourly
Employees immediately upon their hire with the Company.

Your Contributions
● You can contribute from 1% - 25% of your base salary on a pre-tax basis
● You can contribute from 1% - 10% of your base salary on a post-tax basis
● Maximum contribution limit is 25%
● IRS Maximum contribution amount in 2017 - $18,000
● Catch-Up-Contributions – if you are age 50 or older, you may contribute an additional
$6,000
Company Contributions
● After you have completed an Eligibility Year of Service (12 consecutive months of
employment & 1,000 hours of service), the Company will contribute $1 for every $1 you
contribute up to 1% of your base salary.

Business Travel Accident Insurance


All employees are automatically enrolled in the business travel accident insurance plan that
pays a benefit of 6 times your base salary (up to a maximum of $1,000,000) in the event that an
employee dies in an accident while traveling on company business.

Gift of Knowledge
● Employees of Kaplan and their covered family members are eligible to receive free or
substantially discounted courses offered by the Kaplan companies. Part-time employees
must complete differing periods of employment to be eligible depending on the course.
● Education – Kaplan Prep and Achieve Courses, KPE, KI and Kaplan University programs are
available to all employees and their eligible family members following completing differing
periods of service.

o Dell Discounts - Employees and family members can receive discounts off the list price

o Cell phone Discounts – AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon Wireless offer employee discounts on
cell phones, service charges and accessories.

o Employees can receive discounts of 4-17% on Apple Computer products, including


iPods, iMacs, iBooks, Apple accessories and software. Plus, employees can enjoy free
standard shipping on orders over $50.
