Dear Mr. Ryan,

While attending Arizona State University it came to my attention that summer positions would
be available for the upcoming summer of 2018. I was first made aware of these availabilities
from my father, a current English teacher at Brophy, Mr. Lane McShane Sr. who advised that I
should apply—I write to you in hopes of being able to discuss with you in person regarding the
position. For the past years, since my graduation from Brophy College Preparatory, I have been
studying in the field of English and Secondary Education. Based on my experience with Brophy
and Brophy’s requirement of new and helpful educators, I feel that I my knowledge and
experience would be mutually beneficial. This is because, as an educator, and alumni, I
understand the already intricate workings of a Catholic private school, and would easily adapt to
a position, moreover, I am studying in the field and have experience regarding assisting
educators.

I am, personally, very well qualified and knowledgeable about being a teaching assitant, and
would be an asset to the school because of my experience working as a teaching assistant/tutor
for Wilson Elementary School (which my time there was under Brophy College Preparator’s
assistance). I have worked with both high school and middle school teachers, and thus, have real
world experience which would be extremely beneficial. Also, I am currently looking to work
with teachers and staff that I have already developed positive relations with, and all I am lacking
is the opportunity, an opportunity that Brophy provides. Therefore, my background is dually
helpful: I have already developed experience in the field and would need little to no training, and
have already met and worked with the staff and intricacies of Brophy before.

I align with the goals and mission of Brophy because I am past alumni, and understand the
Catholic mission that is deeply rooted in to Brophy College Preparatory, and with my experience
with assisting in schools prior to Brophy, I am an ideal candidate and would greatly appreciate
