Additional Movement Types

Use
To enable enhanced use of PM refurbishment orders in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO)
process, you can configure special movement types. These movement types enable two-level transfer
posting (enhanced movement types 313 and 315) for rotable and repairable components. These
movement types are in addition to the standard movement types 101 for goods issue and 261 for goods
receipt that you can also use in refurbishment orders.

Refurbishment orders only support movement types 101, 261, 313 and 315. You can assign
other movement types to refurbishment orders, however it is then not possible to post goods
receipt for the refurbished materials.

You can use all types of stock, including special stock types for sales order stock, project
stock, and customer stock, with all of these movement types.

Features
 Two-step stock transfer for refurbishment orders is important to the MRO process because rotable
components are often not consumed, but transferred from one location to another. Such locations
may be a warehouse for serviceable stock or even the technical component (such as aircraft) from
which the rotable has been dismantled and so on.
 Stock transfer provides a certain degree of visibility of work in progress. The refurbishment order
contains the following fields for quantity:
 Quantity to be refurbished. This is a standard function and the system displays this field for
all movement types.
 Quantity currently in transit (posted with movement type 313, not yet posted with movement
type 315). This is an enhanced function that the system only displays if you use movement
type 313.
 Quantity that has been refurbished. This is a standard function for all movement types.
However, it has been enhanced to enable posting with movement type 315.
 Movement type 313. Posting of a stock transfer from a storage location. The system removes the
relevant quantity from unrestricted-use stock and temporarily stores it in blocked stock.
 Movement type 315. On completion of the refurbishment, posting of a stock transfer of the
relevant quantity, from blocked stock to unrestricted-use stock.

The storage location may be the same location in each case or even different storage
locations.
