On Friday, February 16, Davidson County experienced an encryption/ransomware attack.

Since that time, County staff has been working diligently to address issues created by that

attack. Significant progress has been made in the past several days to restore our services and to

remediate the effects of this attack. Our primary focus continues to be to ensure the prompt delivery

of all essential services to our citizens.

We will not rest until this incident is resolved in its entirety. We are continuing to work

with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation. Further, we will take appropriate steps to

prevent these attacks in the future.

We sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our community while we

address these issues. We further appreciate the offers of assistance that we have received from

other counties.

An updated statement will be issued when we have significant news to report.
