Structural
General
1. Assume soil bearing capacity of 100 kPa, unless site conditions requires a thorough analysis.
2. Depth of footing (embedment) is 1.0 meter from N.G.L.
3. Apply an Equivalent Static Load Method in design, using the following coefficients:
a. Zone 4
b. Na = 1.2
c. Nv = 1.6
d. I = 1.0
e. Rwx = Rwz = 8.5
f. Soil Profile Type = 4 (can be modified if site conditions require)
4. Assume Zone III in wind analysis for roof loading.
5. Wind Exposure Category may be derived from actual site condition and its neighboring area.
6. Assume Roof live load of 0.8kPa.
Civil Works
1. For footing, use Type B concrete with minimum f’c = 17.23MPa (2,500 psi)
2. For beams and columns, use Type A concrete with minimum f’c = 20.7 MPa (3,000 psi)
3. Use Grade 33 steel for 16mmØ and below, and Grade 40 steel for 20mmØ and above.
4. Use rafter type roofing using 2x4” or 2x6” tubular (at designed thickness) as rafter spaced at 2 to
3 meters spacing.
5. Use 2x3” or 2x4” Cee-purlins spaced at maximum of 0.7meter O.C.
6. Use rib-type long span roofing with nominal thickness of 0.4mm (unpainted).
7. For masonry, use concrete hollow blocks, 4” THK for both exterior and interior partitions, with
minimum f’m = 350 psi.
8. For masonry filler, use 1:3 cement-sand mix.
9. For masonry reinforcements, assume vertical spacing of 500mm and horizontal spacing of RSB
every 3 layers of CHB.

Architectural
1. Finish both sides of the wall with 12mm THK cement plaster using 1:2 (cement – sieved sand)
mix.
2. Apply skim coat to both sides.
3. Apply 1 coat of Flat Latex paint on the outside, and semi-gloss Latex Paint in the inside.
4. Color shall be white for the inside, and beige for the outside.
5. Use local grade ceramic tiles, 300x300mm for bathroom floor with 25mm (1inch) THK topping
of 1:2 cement-sand mix.
6. Use local grade ceramic tiles, 200x200mm for bathroom walls occupying all area of the wall.
7. Apply brown tile grout at 5mm maximum width.
Sanitary and Plumbing
 1. Use T&B buhos-type toilet bowl.
2. For water lines, use PVC pipe (blue) 1/2” THK.
3. For sanitary pipe lines, use PVC pipes series 1000.
4. For gray water lines, use PVC pipes series 900.
Electrical
1. Use PDX wires in wiring systems with the following recommended schedule:
a. 2.00 sq.mm for lighting layout
b. 3.50 sq.mm for outlets or power layout
c. 5.00 sq.mm for distribution lines to different area in power layout
d. 8.00 sq.mm for service entrance
2. Use panel board that will accommodate the load of outlets, wirings, and equipment following the
standards set forth by the Philippine Electrical Code.
3. Outlets shall be located at 1.00m above finished floor level.
Fire Protection
1. Fire extinguishers shall be strategically placed such that no part of the structure is 15 meters away
from the closest FE, measured by the way of travel.
