Statistics
Note: Due to IP rights, BattleCollege has to be deliberately vague with stats
SPD Average
MAT Average
DEF Mid-high
Circle Orboros ARM Low
Legion of Everblight CMD Good
Skorne
Unit size 3
Trollbloods
Minions Points cost Low
Blindwater Congregation
They have enough damage boxes to survive most blast damage. CMD is high which, in
Thornfall Alliance
combination with only having 3 models, almost lets them act like 3 solos.
First thing worth noticing is their Magic Ability stat is one point higher than their MAT.
Influence is often not a useful spell, but it has greater range than their spray attack so it's
worth trying if you're too far (and don't want to run). Psychic Assault, however, is amazing.

We all know how sprays can be devastating, both because of the number of enemies they
can cover and the amount of DEF buffs it ignores. Now, with Overlords, you're ignoring one
more defensive tech: LOS. This means you can spray through forests, walls, clouds, models,
etc. Its average POW is enough to threaten most infantry and can even do serious damage
on some 'casters.
The ability to create Drudges is okay but their amazing magic makes them worth taking in
lots of armies whether you take their friends or not.

Rules Clarifications
Ally edit
When this model is taken in its parent faction, it counts as a faction model.
When this model is taken in a mercenary contract, it counts as a mercenary model.
Influence edit
The controlled model can't make gunfighter attacks (ranged attacks aren't edit
allowed) nor point blank attacks (they're only allowed 'during activation').
A trooper you take control of becomes an independent model (refer the errata).
Thus:
It will not benefit from any bonuses that it gets from its comrades (such as
Gang, Shield Wall, etc).
It will not benefit from any bonuses that rely on the trooper being "in
formation" (such as Granted and Tactics abilities).
Spells on a unit are considered to be on the "unit", not on the "models that
make up the unit". So a controlled trooper will not benefit from any spells on
the unit. Infernal Ruling
If you take control of the last survivor of a unit then the "unit" ceases to exist
for the duration of the control. This means that any spells on the "unit" will
expire. Woo, free dispel! Infernal Ruling
Sacrificial Pawn doesn't work against melee or magic attacks. It does work against
Magical Ranged attacks, though.

Sacrificial Pawn doesn't work if you're clipped by an AOE - ie when you're hit but not
directly hit by an AOE.
Using it moves all damage and effects onto the pawnee - including stuff that triggers
"on hit."
The new model hit (the "pawnee") may use any abilities that trigger on being
hit/damaged by an enemy ranged attack. Such as Bane Knights's Vengeance move
Infernal Ruling .
Sprays and AoEs
A model hit by a ranged spray attack can use Sacrificial Pawn to pass it to
another model. The placement of the template does not change.
A model directly hit by a ranged AOE may use Sacificial Pawn to pass it to
another model. The new model is directly hit but the AOE remains where it is.
Infernal Ruling
Note that this may cause the Pawn to be hit twice by the same spray/AOE. So
you then resolve two damage rolls against it.
Sacrificial Pawn multiple times
If a model with the Sacrificial Pawn ability passes it to another model that also
has Sacrificial Pawn ability, that second model may pass it along to a third
model. Infernal Ruling
A model can only use Sac Pawn once, you cannot set up an infinite loop!
There is no limit to how many models you can create. For instance, when Bane Lord
Tartarus threshes he can create one Bane for each model killed in the thresh.
You don't need LOS to the models you are putting into play.
The new models can activate this turn only if the unit they join hasn't activated yet.
Using a Magic Ability counts as a spell, for effects such as Spell Ward, Witch
open in browser PRO version Are you a developer? Try out the HTML to PDF API pdfcrowd.com
Hunter, etc.
Unlike with warcasters/warlocks, using a Magic Ability is not an "any time" ability.
This means:
You must complete your movement before you use a MA.
You cannot make ranged or melee attacks on the same turn you use a MA.
You cannot use a MA on the same turn you charge.
(Unless, of course, the rules for the specific MA you're using say you can.)
Pathfinder edit
Pathfinder helps you move through shallow water, but not deep water.
Pathfinder does apply on out-of-activation advances. But it doesn't apply to
involuntary movement (i.e. when you're pushed).
