You will be assigned one poem to analyze and write a one-page typed response
(MLA format). During planning, please use the TPCASTT Model to help further
break down the poem.

Writing Workshop- Poetry Analysis
1. In your group, you will deconstruct the prompt
2. You will then analyze the prompt
3. Individually, you will then interact with the poem
4. You will will read the poem a second time with your group, look at the three
parts of the poem and summarize
5. You will then identify poetic techniques
6. Write an essay on the poem (follow the prompt)
7. You will evaluate your essay
8. You will review a high scoring essay
9. Turn in your packet before leaving, you will get it back on Monday
