Strengths of the Software: It’s a great click through for students to see what would have
happened if they lived in the Dust Bowl time period. They can make decisions and see what their
outcome would have been.
Suggestions for Improvement: Sometimes the software is buggy- it doesn’t always work on every
type of computer. In general, it really is a great click through website. There’s a photo gallery and
biographies students can click around through as well.

Description of how to implement in the class:
Students need a computer or table to access the website. The link can be placed on Google
classroom or similar platform. Students can click though in pairs, looking at the same device,
though the system is built for click through by one person. It’s student self-paced and actually has
information for them to learn along the way.

The website overall is a really great resource for learners and has extension opportunities as well.
If the teacher would like, he/she can create a worksheet for students to fill out using the
information that is all centrally located. This activity (using the website and game) could be an
excellent enrichment opportunity for students. The juxtaposition of text and striking images drives
the point home.
