Assessment: Quality Management

Assume you are a new generation quality Guru and advocate of a unique concept of ‘Quality
of Quality Management’ which transforms a company in short time and at minimum cost to
produce high quality product, services and processes. You worked in a number of
multinational companies as champion black belt and helped companies to improve their
profits substantially. Presently, you are running a consulting company named Quality
Square Limited with a branch in NCR. A few years back you were awarded the Deming
Prize, one of the highest awards on TQM (Total Quality Management) in the world in
recognition of your contributions in advancement of Total Quality Management (TQM).

Government of India has launched a major initiative to improve the quality of goods and
services offered by its Public Sector Units (PSUs) which can compete with the best in the
world both in quality and price instead of resorting to their disinvestment. You have been
chosen to lead the campaign.

Requirement:
Choose any one PSU, study its organization, size, product / service, financial statements
and issues from the open source in internet and chart out a comprehensive plan for three
years period including expected outcome of TQM campaign. The comprehensive plan
should include:

a. Quality management strategy

b. Concepts and tools of quality, organization and leadership
c. Provide implementation schedule and estimated cost
d. Expected outcome

You are free to assume any data and details not available in open source, contact experts
and refer books.

The submission must be in minimum six A4 size pages excluding tables and graphs. The
first page should contain the extract.

Submit the requirement in hard and soft copies latest by 23-2-2018. Late submission will
invite per day 5% reduction of marks scored.

It is an individual exercise, plagiarism will be detected through software and serious

penalization will be done.

The government has given a hint that on successful implementation you may be awarded
Padma Bibhushan.
