According to the dictionary, “religion” involves “belief in and reverence for a

supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.” It is a

personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship. Some believe
that it is old as humankind. Since the beginning, human beings looked to powers
outside themselves for protection and reassurance. These beliefs predate the written
word, so we must look to archaeological finds for evidence of this ancient religious
belief.

Three of the most influential religions are the Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Every
religion has different goals, and different paths to reach their goals. Although the
followers of Judaism, Christianity and Islam may see things differently, they still have the
same values and codes to hold their religion. Even though the three religions differ in
many areas and on many aspects, they also agree on the monotheistic, the belief in
‘One True God.’ The conception of god in this three religion is Monotheism, the doctrine
or belief that there is only one God. Also these religions are Patriarchal, relating to or
characteristic of a patriarch, which has resulted in God being described as “He.” All
three faiths emphasize their special covenant with God, for Judaism through Moses,
Christianity through Jesus, and Islam through Muhammad.

Here is a table of the similarities between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

However, how Christians, Judaism and Islam conceptualize God in their respective
theologies is actually quite different. In Christianity, God is the supreme creator and ruler
of the universe. Christians believe God is infinite, omnipotent, all-powerful, perfect,
personal, eternal, unchanging, holy, all-knowing, and all-loving. Their idea of God is
shown in the belief of the Trinity. God is one, but with three aspects: God is Father, the
creator, ruler, and sustainer of all life, and divine judge; God is the Son, who is Jesus,
God made incarnate and saviour of humanity; and the Holy Spirit, who is God working
in the world. Both Muslims and Christians love and respect Jesus, however, the major
difference between Islam and Christianity is the Christians insistence on the supposed
divinity of Christ. In Christian scriptures, God never claimed divinity while the emphasis in
the Islamic theology of God is “absolute unity;” God is sublimely one. Muslims think that
by believing in the Trinity, Christians believe in three Gods. For them, God is One God.
Judaism views the existence of God as a necessary prerequisite for the existence of the
universe, and the existence of the universe is sufficient proof of the existence of God.
On the other hand, Christians believe that Jesus is the “messiah” refers to the future
Jewish King but some of the Jewish people didn’t believe in this. They say that the
messiah hasn’t come yet until today. Meanwhile, for the Muslims, Jesus is not a god but
a prophet like Abraham, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. The three also differs in
divine revelation where the Muslims believe that Muhammad was the last prophet who
has spoken to the lord and the conversation was recorded in Quran. Meanwhile, Jews
believe in the revelation of the prophets recorded in the bible. On the other hand, just
like Judaism, Christianity believes in the revelation of the prophets and Jesus as the God
himself.
Here is a table that will show the differences between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
