Topic: Talking About Birthdays


Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1. Talk about birthday customs in other countries
2. Use new words in a sentence correctly
3. Give basic personal information correctly

Teaching Process
1. At the start of the class, build rapport with the student. Introduce yourself, “Hi!I’m teacher
_________. How are you?”
Ask simple questions like the ff:
a. “What is your name?”
b. “Where do you live?”
c. “How old are you.”
d. In what grade are you in?
e. How do you find the Philippines?
Always ask your students to answer in complete sentences. Don’t allow them to talk in
phrases. Correct them immediately. Repeat and adjust your pace of questioning according
to the needs of the students.
2. Ask the student how they celebrate birthdays in their country.
3. Ask the student to read the selection on “Birthdays.”
4. Go to the discussion part and ask the students questions about the selection. Discuss the
