Chronometer 10h 32m 50s, chronometer error nil. Find the error and deviation of the compass
if the variation was 3.5W.
4. At about 0500 hrs on September 23rd 1995 in Lat 51 06'N, Long 11 15'W, the star
Polaris ( Ursae Minoris) bore 010C and 000G. Chronometer showed 5h 45m 00s correct
on GMT. Variation 10W. Find the error and deviation of the magnetic compass and the error
of the gyro compass.
5. 21st September 1995 at about 0525 hrs in DR Lat 5 58'S, Long 69 03'E. Saturn bore
261C. Chronometer showed 0h 27m 38s. Error 1m 34s slow of GMT. Variation 4W. Find
the compass error and deviation.
6. From the following details calculate the True bearing of planet Mars:
Approx Ship’s Time 2140 hrs 30th July 1995.
Position 50 13'N, 22 37'W.
