ABOUT-BOODY
• Boody was born in Sydney in 2011, Australia
as a challenge to design simple, comfortable
and attractive apparel with earth-friendly
materials.

• Searched for years for the most comfortable

innerwear and base layers.

• But couldn’t find products that could satisfy

their personal pursuit of eco-friendly fabrics
and processes.

• Then, discovered the viscose made from

bamboo and never looked back.
WHY BAMBOO?
SOURCE OF RAW MATERIAL

• The bamboo used to make the yarn for

Boody bamboo eco wear is grown in
China by Hebei Jigao Chemical Fiber
Company.

• They hold the patent on the process for

turning bamboo into yarn.

• Boody yarn is certified organic by OCIA

(The Organic Crop Improvement
Association).

TRANSFORMING
BAMBOO INTO BOODY
• The process by which

bamboo into Boody
bamboo eco wear.
CREATION OF BOODY

1. GROWN ORGANIC
Our bamboo is grown without
fertilizers or pesticides and no
irrigation, only rain water

2. HARVEST
First, the green shoots are cut into
chunks of raw bamboo.

3. PROCESS
The bamboo is soaked in a solution to soften
it. The system is closed loop - all liquid is
recycled and all solvents are captured and
removed to ensure that the process is as eco-
friendly as the bamboo itself.
4. DEHYDRATE
The dehydration process allows us to
extract the bamboo pulp that is then
dried into flat sheets.

5. GRIND
When the bamboo sheets are
completely dry, they are ground into a
soft, feathery material.

6. SEW
The soft, feathery material is then extruded and
spun into a viscose yarn that we use to knit our
garments.
