What is bacteria?
Bacteria are things that live on everywhere and even in our body. Bacteria are organisms that is
very small, single-celled, in environment, inside, outside other organisms. Some bacteria are
harmful, but most can do a useful purpose. They support many forms of life, both plant and
animal, and they are used in industrial and medicinal processes. Bacteria are considered to have
been the first organisms to appear on earth, about 4 billion years ago. The oldest known fossils
are of bacteria-like organisms. Bacteria can use most organic and some inorganic compounds as
food, and some can survive extreme conditions. A growing interest in the function of the gut
microbiome is shedding new light on the roles bacteria play in human health.
Bacteria reproduce by binary fission. The bacteria copy and then splits into two daughter cells
identical DNA to their parents, daughter cell is like a clone of their parents. The bacteria are
most likely to grow in dirty places and in the conditions that are favourable such as the right
temperature and nutrients are available for them to grow and reproduce.
The bacteria are commonly grow in the temperatures about 40 degrees F and 140 degrees F and
it doubles its numbers up in every twenty minutes. They need water, nutrients, food for them to
