Subject: Provision of information on Consultancy assignment, its fee distribution among

the selected teachers of CED for the Project “Evaluation of Structural Stability
& Geotechnical Investigations at Al-JAZARI Academy, Lahore”.
(Information required from the Dean Faculty of Civil Engineering).
Dear Sir,
The above cited project was requested, to be undertaken, by the Chief Executive Officer of
The Urban Unit (TUU) to the Dean Faculty of Civil Engineering (Dr. Abdul Sattar Shakir) vide his
letter No. 15076 dated 29-12-2016. The Dean Civil deputed directly a team of teachers from civil
engineering department to visit site dated 02-01-2017. Accordingly, the Dean Civil prepared and
sent the quotation of Rs.900000/- (Rupees Nine Hundred Thousands) + other direct charges, vide
his letter No. PS/DCE/05 dated 03-01-2017 to the CEO, TUU. Later, the same was carried out
after getting the Payment. A team of three teachers of Dean’s own choice (core team of Dean
Civil) from civil engineering department duly headed by himself was involved in this commercial
assignment without bringing this matter in the notice of Chairman Civil (it has been confirmed
from the x-chairman). Concrete and Geotechnical Engineering laboratories of civil engg.
department were also involved in this assignment.

In view of above, the following information are required under the provisions of Punjab
Transparency and Right to Information Act. 2013 (hereinafter The Act), on the above subjected
commercial assignment, to take further step in this matter. You are requested to provide the
information given in the table below. Please provide the attested/certified photocopies of the
information.

Names of three selected teachers (core team of Dean) from civil engineering
1. department, who were involved in this commercial assignment under the headship of
Dean Civil along with the basis of their selection.
The documentary evidence that the UET share was deposited in the Treasurer account,
2. in compliance with the notification no. No. Regu-III/67/15/131 dated 13-04-2015
with the date of deposit of the UET share.
Details and documentary evidence of distribution of share among the Dean Civil and
3. three selected teachers of civil engineering department involved in the assignment.
The details and documentary evidence of payment deposited in the two Labs. of civil
4. engineering department against the work/ testing carried out in these labs.
Signed copy of the report with its covering letter of the Dean Civil, which was
5. submitted to The Urban Unit.
The rules under which, the Dean Civil in his official capacity is directly preparing &
sending the quotations for commercial assignments along with directly picking the
6. teachers of his own choice for these assignments without bringing it in the notice of
Chairman Civil.
 Please note that in case the wrong information is provided by the Dean Civil, or if the Dean
Civil refuses or obstruct the disclosure of information or release partial information, then this would
be considered as an offense under section 16 of the Act and is punishable with imprisonment for
a term which may extend to two years.

Under the provisions of the Act (Section 5(2)-as per amendment issued on January 04,
2015), you are requested to provide a dated and signed acknowledgement receipt on this application/
letter. I shall be grateful.
