Deepwell No. 1 - Shortening Area

Methodology applied to measure flow rate: Volumetric Method

Volume of Container used to measure flow 20 Liters Production in

Average Time to fill the 20 Liter container 115.2 secs 8 Hrs Continuous
Flow Rate : Volume divide by Time 0.17 L/sec 5,000 Liters
24 Hrs Continuous
15,000 Liters

Deepwell No. 3 - Poultry Area

Methodology applied to measure flow rate: Volumetric Method

A. At the pump discharge outlet

Before rehabilitation and installation of new pump

Volume of Container used to measure flow 20 Liters Production in

Average Time to fill the 20 Liter container 77 secs 8 Hrs Continuous
Flow Rate : Volume divide by Time 0.26 L/sec 7,481 Liters
24 Hrs Intermittent
14,961 Liters

After rehabilitation and installation of new pump

Volume of Container used to measure flow 20 Liters Production in

Average Time to fill the 20 Liter container 12.13 secs 8 Hrs Continuous
Flow Rate : Volume divide by Time 1.65 L/sec 47,486 Liters
16 Hrs Intermittent
94,971 Liters

B. At the point of discharge to the tank

After rehabilitation, installation of new pump, and connection of 1-1/4" HDPE pipe,

Volume of Container used to measure flow 20 Liters Production in

Average Time to fill the 20 Liter container 20 secs 8 Hrs Continuous
Flow Rate : Volume divide by Time 1.00 L/sec 28,800 Liters
16 Hrs Intermittent
57,600 Liters

Deepwell No. 4 - Piggery Area

Methodology applied to measure flow rate: Volumetric Method

A. Flow Rate from the Well (All pipe connections disabled)
Volume of Container used to measure flow 20 Liters Production in
Average Time to fill the 20 Liter container 23.08 secs 8 Hrs Continuous
Flow Rate : Volume divide by Time 0.87 L/sec 24,957 Liters
24 Hrs Continuous
74,870 Liters

B. Flow Rate that goes to Piggery (Diversion to Poultry Open)

Volume of Container used to measure flow 20 Liters Production in
Average Time to fill the 20 Liter container 28.96 secs 8 Hrs Continuous
Flow Rate : Volume divide by Time 0.69 L/sec 19,890 L/day
24 Hrs Continuous
59,669 L/day

Flow Rate that goes to Poultry = A-B Production in

= 0.87 - 0.69 8 Hrs Continuous
= 0.18 L/s 5,184 L/day
24 Hrs Continuous
15,552 L/day

Only 20% of the total well production of DW-4 goes to the Poultry Area.
However, due to wear and tear of the pump which contributes to inefficiency,
plus losses due to variable pipe sizes of polyethylene plastic pipes which convey
water to the two livestock areas, the amount of water that is actually delivered
is way below the volume as compared to the volume measured from the well
immediately discharged from the pump.
DuW-2 - Level Measurement

While pumping

Time Interval (min) Water Level (m) Drawdown (m) Drawdown/min (m)
8:05 AM - 2.85 - -
8:38 AM 35 3.09 0.24 0.0069
9:04 AM 26 3.27 0.18 0.0069
9:30 AM 26 3.45 0.18 0.0069
10:00 AM 30 3.67 0.22 0.0073
Average Drawdown/min 0.0070

Pump Off (Recovery)

Interval (min) Water Level (m) Recovery (m) Recovery/min (m)
10:00 AM - 3.67 - -
11:00 AM 60 3.00 0.67 0.0112

Rate of Recovery vs Rate of Drawdown = Recovery/min divide by Drawdown/min

(Rate of Recovery/min) / (Rate of Drawdown/min) = 1.6
