Safety:

The safety of people in the plant and in the surrounding community is of paramount
importance. So, to make the process or operation at the safe operating condition which involve a few
parts which are based on personnel or person in charge and equipment used in plants.

 Personnel or person in charge:

Where a person deals with high concentration chemicals for Example: Engineers exposed too
to Acrylic acid may cause dizziness due to asphyxiation. However, Acrylic also may cause
blindness if splash into the eye. However, to prevent it used a proper personal protection
equipment while handling with hazardous chemicals.

 Equipment used in plants

Equipment was designed to operate safely at expected temperature and pressures. However,
Improper operation can lead to equipment failure and release of potentially hazardous
materials for example, Permissible pressure of the PFR reactor in the process is 2 bar. If the
pressure were allowed to increase too far beyond the normal value, the reactor might burst
or the process will be disturb, resulting in injuries or death. The pressure is controlled by the
element pressure controller. However, to control the system is by adding the pressure sensor
and a safety valve which can reduce or maintain the pressure needed. To maintain safety in
the plant, the instruments that monitor the critical process variables such as pressure and
temperature will be fitted with automatic alarms to alert the operations if there have any
critical and hazardous situations happen.
