What “Mustard Seed” Do You Have
Ideas are so important. Nothing ever gets done with-
out first existing in the form of an idea. Some are real
“dreamers,” and can think of huge ideas, but they are
afraid to share them because others “shoot down”
big ideas with phrases like, “That’ll never work
here,” or “We don’t have the money to do that.”
If you are one who dreams big, you are in great com-
pany. How do I know? Christ had the largest dreams
in Scripture! In Matthew 13:31-32, Jesus put one of
His “dreams” in the form of a brief parable:
The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of
mustard seed that a man took and sowed in
his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but
when it has grown it is larger than all the gar-
den plants and becomes a tree, so that the
birds of the air come and make nests in its
branches.
That’s thinking big! The Church (kingdom) was to be

the biggest thing in the world! How many of us
would have listened to that and immediately
thought, “That’ll never happen; we’ve never seen
that before.”
Paul gave us the motivation to think big when he
stated, “I can do all things through Christ, who
strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). When we think
about it, and seek God’s will, it can be done.
Now it’s up to you. What “mustard seed” of an idea
do you have? Can you see Lebanon Road doing
great works that reach all over our country and even
around the world? Can you see us doing more mis-
sion work? Can you see us encouraging people by
the hundreds or even the thousands? Why not?
Share your “mustard seed,” and seek God’s wis-
dom. You’ll be amazed at what can be done with
your mustard seed idea.

Mission Emphasis Weekend
All eight of the Lebanon Road supported missionar-
ies will be with us the first weekend in October as
we celebrate our Missions Emphasis Weekend. The
weekend will be filled with time for these men to
make presentations to the elders, tour some of the
Nashville sites, visit with members of our congrega-
tion, and generally be uplifted for the great work
they do in His kingdom.
As in the past, we will need members of our congre-
gation to open their homes up for a couple of nights
and provide a couple of meals. If you have space for
a missionary and are willing to allow one or more to
stay with you, please contact either the church office
or Bro. Tommy Moore.
