Introduction

A Slayer Exciter is an air-cored transformer that steps up a very low DC voltage to a very high
AC voltage. This creates an electromagnetic field around the coil that is capable of lighting up
fluorescent and neon light bulbs. It is fairly similar to a Tesla Coil.

The Slayer Exciter was the brainstorm of Dr. Stiffler and GBluer a few years ago. It has since
been modified and improved, resulting in a community of people whose hobby is to revise and
improve them.

So how does the Slayer Exciter Circuit board work? So it is powered by a 9V DC Battery.
Starting from our power source the current will split and will flow through our Primary coil and
22kΩ resistor that reduces the amount of current that is flowing through the circuit then the
remaining current that is passing through the resistor is connected in our secondary coil and to
the base of our transistor (2N2222A). The Electrons always flow through the easiest path so what
will happen is that the current will flow first through the Primary coil but then there will still be
current flowing though the resistor and that will be enough to excite the base of the transistor
which closes the base/loop. But there was a current that passed through the primary coil that
generated a magnetic field that will drive the secondary coil thus there will be a current passing
though the secondary coil which is connected to the resistor. But there was a also a current
flowing through the resistor so what will happen is that the current from the secondary coil will
block/oppose the current coming from the 9V battery which will now open the base of our
transistor again. And once that happened the current will be able to flow through primary again.
So what am I trying to say is that we are in a situation where when the Primary coil is turned on
it will drive the secondary but once the secondary is on it will turn of the bass thus the primary
will turn off and since the primary coil is turn off, the secondary will also turn off because it was
powered by the primary. And when both is off, again there will be current flowing to our
primary, It’s like an never ending cycle which generates radiation due to the accelerated
electrons thus lighting up the fluorescent light by exciting the gasses inside it.

II. Materials
- Copper Coil
- 9V Battery
- Transistor 2N2222A
- 22K Resistor
- Fluorescent Light
- Wires
- Electric Tape
- Breadboard
III. Procedures
1. Make your own Copper Coil by winding a lot of copper wires around a tube.
2. Then follow the basic connection of the circuit diagram down below:

3. Place the fluorescent light at the coil then wait for it to light up.

IV. Generalization
So in summary, we are in a situation where when the Primary coil is turned on it will
drive the secondary but once the secondary is on it will turn of the base thus the
primary will turn off and since the primary coil is turn off, the secondary will also
turn off because it was powered by the primary. And when both is off, again there
will be current flowing to our primary, It’s like an never ending cycle called pulsating
current which generates radiation due to the accelerated electrons thus lighting up the
fluorescent light by exciting the gasses inside it.
