Bloat Thrall Edit 0 30 …
{Placeholder}
Another tactic that is great fun against infantry swarms is fielding two Bloat Thralls and
Deathjack. Keep the Bloat Thralls about 6" from each other and position Deathjack about 3"
behind them.
Turn one, you will usually move and shoot with one and run the other to close in,
follow Deathjack up to within 3" of the slowest Thrall.
Next turn, activate the one that shot last turn, move up a few inches and shoot into
an infantry swarm targeting the lowest DEF model. Then charge the unit with the
second Bloat Thrall.
Then activate the Deathjack, move it up and throw the Bloat Thrall that shot into the
Bloat Thrall that charged, boost the throw damage and watch them both pop Death
Blast, which should put a decent sized hole in the enemy lines.
Works very well against swarms, high DEF low ARM models, Trolls and other
models with tough, multi-wound warrior models and lesser 'beasts. It takes some
practice, but when executed correctly they can usually take out two or three times

their point cost and really throw a wrench into your enemy's plans.
Dirty Cryx trick #3: Run a Scrap Thrall into the front lines of your opponent's infantry or
stealth solos. The goal here is not to attack with the Scrap Thrall, just get it as close as
possible to the the target. Then, with the back strike bonus you only need to roll a 5 to hit
the scrap thrall (or 9 if you ran the scrappie too close and got him engaged). Even if you
miss, you still have a chance of catching the scrap thrall in the blast damage. Anyway, as
long as you kill the scrappie you get to resolve two massive blasts, first the Despoiler's
AOE followed by the Scrap Thrall's AOE.

Rules clarifications
Quasi-Mercenary model - This model is not a Mercenary model, but it can be taken
in a Puppet Masters mercenary contract. In this case, and in this case only, it counts
as a Mercenary Faction model and would be a Friendly Faction model to other
Mercenary models.
Steady edit
Steady models are still susceptible to other effects of knock-down attacks (if there
are any).
For example, a steady model hit with a Head butt will take damage but not
suffer the knock down effect. Infernal Ruling
A knocked down model that gains Steady will remain knocked down, because the
"cannot be knocked down" is not retroactively applied. Infernal Ruling
