Client: Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival

My client -
Encounters film festival is based in Bristol and it showcases short films, animation
and virtual reality. The festival provides a platform for beginner film makers to
showcase their work to professionals and help to further their career. The filmaker
that enter productions are eligable for the most prestigious awards in the world
including: Oscars, BAFTAs and European film awards. Around 2,500 videos are
entered each year and the judges need to choose about 200 that should make it
through to screening in the competition. 

Idea Outline -
Narrative music videos about 2 childhood friends, the outcast boy and the popular
girl following the story of the most unlikely romance.

Rules and regulations -

• Submissions are open for short films from every genre including animation,
documentary, drama, experimental, music or artist film
• Films must have been completed after 1st January 2017
• Films must be no longer that 30 minutes including credits
• Encounters festival does not require any premiere status
• If the original film is not in English, the preview and screening copy must
have English subtitles
• All films must be available in 35mm or DCP file for screening at the festival.
The festival can create a DCP file for you from pro res file but this may occur
a fee
