700 Sequential Compression System
What is DVT?
Deep Vein Thrombosis or DVT is the formation of a blood clot in a deep vein in the
legs. Blood clots may form in the deep veins of the legs following surgery or periods
of time when you are unable to walk. If untreated, blood clots can cause disability or
even become life threatening. One of the most serious complications that can happen
with DVT is that a blood clot could travel to the lungs, block blood flow and cause
pressure on the heart muscle (known as a pulmonary embolism).
Section 1
The Kendall SCD™ 700 Series Sequential Compression
How Does the Kendall SCD™ 700 Series Help?
The Kendall SCD™ 700 Series Controller compresses air at regular intervals into leg
and foot garments wrapped around your legs or feet. The air gently squeezes your
limbs, one at a time, beginning at the bottom of the garment. Therapy is customized
System for you based on the time it takes your veins to refill after squeezing. After each
set of compressions there is a small wait, then the compressions begin again. This
pattern of compression and release increases blood flow to the legs, helping to
prevent DVT and pulmonary embolism.

points on the limb(s).
Remove garment if you experience numbness, tingling, or leg pain and call your
physician.
The tubing connector should be at the ankle.
