Introduction:
Commas and periods are the most frequently used punctuation marks. Commas customarily
indicate a brief pause; they're not as final as periods.
We’ve looked at some of the ways we use commas in our writing. Sometimes a comma can be
difference between a completely logical sentence and a kind of …. Crazy none. After viewing
some of the internet’s finest “comma fails” it’s your turn to find some of the worst “comma
fails” from the internet and correct them!
Instructions:
1. Create a copy of this document by clicking “File” and then “Make a Copy…”
2. Rename this file with your name and the name of the assignment. Example
“Morgan-Comma Fails”.
3. Research “comma fail” photos and select fails that are not:
a. Already used in the slideshow for examples.
b. Derogatory or inappropriate. We will discuss these qualifications in class.
4. Complete the assignment by filling in the details to the template below.
5. Submit your final product to Google Classroom.

Marking Guide:
● Each “Comma Fail” photo is worth 2 points.
● Response questions are worth 3 points each.
○ Each question will be graded according to the following: a complete sentence is
used and an explanation or reason is given. Proper grammar and mechanics are
also a part of this grade.
