API 617 7th Ed Chapter 3 – INTEGRALLY GEARED COMPRESSORS


• In 2002 the Integrally geared compressors (IG) obtained their recognition as a pursuable
technology for the critical process gas services thanks to the implementation of a dedicated
Chapter (3) to the 7th Edition of the API 617.

• API 617 - 7th ed. - Chapter 3 : IG compressors Able to meet the Stringent Safety and reliability
demands of the Petroleum, Chemical, Power and Gas Industries

• Cameron supplies compliant with API617 Ch 3 GAS compressors (Reference list: approx 80
units installed)

• Cameron has more than 60 years of experience in building IG compressors

• Cameron centrifugal compressors are reliable and low maintenance requirement.
We do not require periodic replacement of seals and bearings under routine maintenance.
Centrifugal compressors do not need any parts to be regularly replaced other than oil and seal gas
filters which can be replaced on line. Oil samples should also be taken one or two times per year
for conformity with specs.

• We can offer sound enclosure, complete with fire detection and fighting (co2 anti-fire system).

• Surge is not failing the compressor. Electronic controller not strictly required.

• We can offer complete air cooled packages, even in large size

• Our machines are more compact vs single shaft (minimized overall footprint)
