Date of Birth: September 25, 1968

Place of Birth: Cebu, Philippines

Engr. Leo S. Abaquita, is a faculty member of the Department of Civil Engineering in University of

Perpetual Help System Dalta - Calamba Campus.

He studied Bachelor of Civil Engineering in the University of Visayas in his college days, he passed

the Civil Engineering board examination on October 1988. The title in his name, “RCE” at the end, as a

member of the professional organizations in the Philippines such as Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers.

He took training and seminars supporting his profession in confidently proving his capability in his field.

Today, he’s teaching for 4 years after 25 years of working on field.

1. In your opinion, what’s the best computer application for structural computations?
 There are plenty of good computer application and they are said to be the best depending
on its purpose, like for Steel Design, the best application is “STAAD”
2. What computer applications do you use for your student’s learning? Why?
 Sorry, I’m not handling computer applications
3. What type of computer you prefer while using your preferred application?
 The best for now is an i7 computer for faster processing.
4. How does that application affect your progress in working?
 Definitely faster result
5. Do you prefer to use projector rather than the traditional way of teaching? Why?
 Definitely, if we have enough.

1. What are the contracts you used in terms of your profession?

 Bilateral Contract
2. What are the problems you encountered related to the contracts you’re involved?
 None so far
3. How do you handle the conflicts you encountered about the contract?
 None so far
4. Why is it important to follow the NSCP codes for construction?
 It’s important because this is the heart and soul of structural Engineers and
must follow every time.
5. What would be the penalties you know if you didn’t follow the NSCP codes for construction?
 Permit shall not be issued

Analysis of the Answer

 Language of law and computer is widely use especially for those professionals but some of
the questions we gave has not yet been encountered by our professor.
