When resident of 2 or more different countries do the

transaction of sale and purchase of goods and services. Such trade is
known as international trade and transactions are known as
international trade transactions.

3. cmposition and restrictions on release of foreign currencies.
4. Existence of multiple regulations, legal practices and rules in
different countries.

According to section 7 of foreign trade Act, 1992. A business

firm can enter into the business of exports and imports only it has
been allotted. cmporter-Exporter code number by the competent
licensing authority. The chief licensing authority of cndia is the office
of Director General Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the ministry of
commerce, Govt. of cndia, with its head quarters located at New Delhi.
The regional office of the DGFT is located at different parts of cndia.

An application for the grant of an cEC shall be made by

registered/ head office of applicant to concerned regional authority in

inistries/departments of central or a state government.

2. Dersons importing or exporting goods for their personal use not
connected with trade or manufacture or agriculture.
3. Dersons importing/exporting goods from/to Nepal/
yanmar
through cndo-
yanmar border areas provided CcF value of a
single consignment doesn·t exceed s.25000.
4. Diplomatic personnel, counselor officers in cndia, officials of
UNO and its specialized agencies.
5. cndividuals/NGO·s importing goods which have been exempted
from custom duty for bonafide uses by victims affected by
natural calamities.






  

Export promotion council is not for profit organization registered

under companies· act 1956. Their basic objective is to promote and
develop the export of the country. Each council is responsible for
promotion of particular group of product projects and services.

Any person, fir, company or any legal person can become a

member of EDC by obtaining C
C if, he wishes to apply for:-

 A license or certificate or permission to export/import.

 Avail any other benefits or concessions under foreign trade
policy.

The government of cndia has established the EDC for the

promotion of export of various non-traditional items of exports and
commodity boards (Cs) for the promotion of exports of traditional
goods. These agencies are the registering authority for the exporters
of concerned product groups. Each EDC/C has prescribed its own
procedure for grant of C
C to the export form. An exporter may
register and become a member of EDC or C on being admitted to
membership, the exporter shall be granted a C
C registration cum
membership certificate of export promotions council or commodity
boards concerned.

The C
C shall be deemed to be valid for 1st April of the

licensing year in which it was issued and shall be valid for 5 years
ending 31st march of the licensing year.
