INTRODUCTION

Dear Brother and Sisters

Today, we hear Jesus call several of his apostles: "Come, follow me," he says, and
they follow him. They recognize him as their Savior, the Son of God. From now on they will
not only have to accept his word but also to live as he lived.
This is why the reading from John's letter fits in very well: the life of the Christian must be
marked by love, for Jesus gave his life for us. Love is not a theory or a mere sentiment but
an experience of commitment.

Today, Let us remember those people whom we promised to pray for, let us present to
God their intentions and petitions with our love and devotion. We pray for all the sick and
the suffering, may the Lord console and heal them in his mercy and love.

Brothers and Sisters let us ask the grace to allow God to be part of our journey so
that we may fully experience His goodness and mercy.

Let us all stand to welcome our Mass Presider Rev. Fr. Frederick Abuel Bailey
(Fr. Bibay) as we sing our entrance hymn.

And to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my
thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I
asked the Blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you my
brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Celebrant: May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and brings us to
everlasting life.

All: Amen

Keep your family safe, O Lord, with unfailing care, that, relying solely on the

LITURGY OF THE WORD

First Reading:

From the First letter of John 3:11-21

11
This is the message which you heard from the beginning, that
we must love one another,

12
not to be like Cain, who was from the Evil One and murdered
his brother. And why did he murder his brother? Because his own
actions were evil and his brother's upright.

13
Do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.

14
We are well aware that we have passed over from death
to life because we love our brothers. Whoever does not love,
remains in death.

15
Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you are well
aware that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.

16
This is the proof of love, that he laid down his life for us, and we
too ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

17
If anyone is well-off in worldly possessions and sees his brother
in need but closes his heart to him, how can the love of God be
remaining in him?

18
Children, our love must be not just words or mere talk, but
something active and genuine.

19
This will be the proof that we belong to the truth, and
it will convince us in his presence,

20
even if our own feelings condemn us, that God is greater than
our feelings and knows all things.

3
21
My dear friends, if our own feelings do not condemn us, we can
be fearless before God.

THE WORD OF THE LORD

ALL: Thank be to God

Responsorial Psalm: PS 100: 1B -2, 3, 4, 5

Gospel Acclamation (to be sung)

Celebrant: The Lord be with you.

All: And with your spirit

4
Celebrant: From the Holy Gospel according to John 1:43-51

All: Glory to you O Lord

Jesus decided to go to Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow
me." Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the town of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael
and told him, "We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the
prophets, Jesus, son of Joseph, from Nazareth." But Nathanael said to him,
"Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw
Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, "Here is a true child of Israel. There is no
duplicity in him." Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered and said
to him, "Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree." Nathanael answered him,
"Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel." Jesus answered and said to
him, "Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see
greater things than this." And he said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see the
sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

CELEBRANT: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.

Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,

by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,

so that they may become for us

the Body and + Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion,

He took bread, giving thanks, broke it,

and give it to His disciples, saying:

“Take this, all of you and eat of it. For this is my body which will be
given up for you.”

In similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more

giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples saying:

“Take this, all of you, and drink from it: for this is the chalice of my
blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant. Which will be
poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in
memory of me.”

Mary, Mother of God, with Joseph her most chaste spouse, with the Blessed
Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we
